Another Korean Artist Kwon Jay Hong create his model type plastics model toys.
Most the images were inspired from Kwon' daily life in animation.
And Kwon tried to decomposed those elements into boxes of model sample
The forms for the presentation was really cool indeed

When I went to Osage Soho, I visited one Korean Exhibition [Playground] in CAIS Gallery located in Soho.
It exhibited some works from contemporary artists in Korea.
One of the artist Wee Young Il create a series of paintings about complexman,all the part of complexman was came from
American hero like Spider man , batman, superman, Hulk and wonderful woman...

It was interesting when combining all the elements together in one super hero... but it seems the complexman was indeed with woman characters...

A breakthrough of WIlson Shieh on both painting style and theme.
Much appreciated the collage of the clothing for Chow Yun Fat
It just like those playing card fashion for the girl in the past...

Sotheby's Hong Kong Spring Sale 2009

For the coming Sotheby's in Hong Kong, this is the first time for local artist to have a series art works to be sold in Sotheby's.
From today's newspaper, Kowloon Emperor Mr Tsang 's calligraphy was again not highly preserved in our street... however on the other side it was be sold in Sotheby. Really disappointed with our Government's policy on preserving art and cultural heritage

Tonight I went for a long way to Cyber Port to attend a performance by renowned media artist Prof Masayuki Akamatsu
In the performance, Prof Masayuki Akamatsu developed his own iphone software which made about 20 iphone could be interact each other on a WI-Fi network.

When Prof Masayuki Akamatsu touched one of the iphone , the screen will generate some snow flake and instantly transfer and interact to other iphone, other than visual elements on the screen, nice tones were generated as the same time
In the second part, prof hanged all the iphone on the windows and let the audience to touch and to generate your own sounds.

Amazing to turn a tech stuff into a new media carriers, as an iphone user, i think there were more possibility to be explored....

An interview about Figure artist Michael Lau

Today I have visited Michael Lau 's gallery in a factory building in Quarry Bay
for an interview about the catalogue essay.
He was so nice to express his view about Hong Kong Art Scene, his art philosophy...

Wow, from his first exhibition of the well known Gardener Figure, the coming summer will be 10 year anniversary.
and his Gardener series will be exhibited in U.S.A as one of the celebration.

Chow Chun Fai 's Taxi series

Beside Michael Lau's water garden, I also find local artists Chow Chun Fai's taxi series in lobby of cornwall house. Chow told me that the day when he drew the taxi series was the time he earned his living as a part time taxi driver,

From his drawing, not only reflect a local scenery of public transport. but also the harsh life for a local artist.

As my essay topic was about local artist Michael Lau, before creating his famous figure Gardener. In fact he had hold two solo
painting exhibition in Hong Kong Art centre. During my research, I found 3 original painting works in Swire Island East Artwalk.
It was permanent display in Cornwall House.

It was really cool when look into detail of the water reflection and the texture of clothing

Hong Kong Film 100 year exhibition

A good exhibition about Hong Kong film industry especially it was hold in a public space located in Time square...
It was an interesting experience to watch a watch movie with others just stood in front of screen,

Chow Chun Fai's film series become much popular in this exhibition, I heard some viewers were their first time to see Chow's works. However the quality for the installation was not so good... as the paintings were not originally shown, the printing quality was so poor to watch into detail

Former Central School Envisioning Days

I am highly expected it will be a good exhibition with this traditional site for exhibition. However really disappointed with the many artists just exhibit their past works. Some of them of course create new work for the days. However, those are not site specific works . If the works were exhibited in museum, I think it was really fine to be done like this.

A simple installation was impressed... with simple illustration on plastic folders and hanging up.
It really show the surrounding icon around the Former Central School. After visiting the exhibition, I cant stop to find those icon nearby...

Green Cloud

Can we know how much energy was consumed in a power station ?

Nuage Vert tried to visualize the power consumption in Helsinki with the collaboration of experts from laser technology , computer science, electrical engineering. In the pictures shown above, you can see how those water vapor which emitted from the power plant projecting into green cloud. It was a great demonstration on how art can be transformed to communicate with the city and its public sphere.

By the way, with this amazing idea, Nuage Vert got the award 2008 Golden Nica in the Hybrid Art category.

Mobile desktop

From previous lecture and tutorial, I remember another video from improve everywhere. As many people used to have their notebook in starbruck, people from improve everywhere tried to let us have another perception about the way we used computer in starbuck.

Can we use a desktop which mainly be used in our private sphere (home) to a public sphere (starbuck)?

Look for Antonio Mak

It was a great experience for visiting Look For Antonio Mak exhibition. I really wan to know more about him as he was early left us in 1994. In the exhibition, I really appreciated on Antonio's sculpture about body and ladder....
The work let me think more about the possibility of our body and movement.

Art museum has done good job too as they remove the carpet from the floor.... the raw floor surface really match the style of Antonio Mak

By the way, no photo is allowed in the exhibition, the guard stopped me after I took this one .. ha ha

Vivienne Westwood in Hong Kong

I seldom watch the exhibition about fashion, but my friend told me that it is valuable to see Vivienne Westwood.
After watching the documentation of Vivienne, I sudden know how she influence our world especially
in the sense of fashion
